changing default language affects the site
« on: June 06, 2015, 10:10:43 am »

I setted first the default language of my website as English, than I added translations of articles, modules, menus... to Arabic and Turkish. actually everything is working fine. However when I change the default language to Turkish for example, the website content is not displaying anymore in Turkish even if Turkish language is selected and even the link is that of Turkish page: http://arapcadernegi.org/index.php/tr/
The same problem happens when I set the default language as Arabic, choosing Arabic dosen't show the Arabic content but the English one. How can I solve this please?

jdiction does only translate non default lanuages. The only thing you can do is to change the default language to english, export the turkish and english language, change the default language to turkish and reimport both languages.

Make makes befor you do this.

Do you mean import both languages after changing the default one? I thought about it but I couldn't import the Turkish CSV file.I got an error message:
error1054: Unknown column 'articletext' in 'field list' SQL=UPDATE h9wh4_content SET `title` = '' , `articletext` = '' , `introtext` = '' WHERE `id` = '1'

Ok. thank you very  much. noting that importing the English file doesn't cause any error but importing the Turkish language does.

I was using the version 1.4.1. Joomla doesn't propose to update to the last version so I uploaded the extension pkg_jdiction-1.4.2.zip However the website doesn't work at all even the check doesn't show any problem. I tried then to upload the languages files I exported before uploading the 1.4.2 version but I got the same error with the Turkish file, and the website doesn't work until uploading again the 1.4.1 version

hmm, no error message in 1.4.2? thats strange... because there are important fixes for Joomla 3.4.1 included.
