JDiction 2.0 issues with joomla 3.6.x
« on: November 17, 2016, 10:35:27 pm »

Hi,

I manage several joomla sites. Since I upgrade joomla sites to 3.6.0 I also had to upgrada jdiction to 2.0.
With joomla 3.6.0 and jdiction 2.0, everything seems fine, but upgrading joomla to 3.6.1, 3.6.2, 3.6.3 and 3.6.4, I have to click twice on language flags, to change to the desired translation.

I did clean cache. Also, downgrading to 3.6.0 flag links start to work correctly again.

What can I do to fix it?
Thanks

You have to dort the System Plugins correct.

Joomla language Plugin have to be the first jdiction the Second.

Hi Harald,

Thanks for your prompt answer.
In fact it isn't. I have re-ordered, and now Joomla language is the first plugin, the followed by jdiction.

Seems that the flag buttons are OK now. I don't have to click the twice, but another issue came up:

The default lang is PT, and I have a translation to EN. So, when you open the page (http://www.nunix-it.pt) the browser will redirect to http://www.nunix-it.pt/pt . So far so good. So I click on EN flag and there's a html page (this wasn't happening before the upgrade) http://www.nunix-it.pt/en/.html
So if you click again to chane to PT lang, it will break the links: http://www.nunix-it.pt/pt//en/.html giving a 404 error.

Can you help with this?

Thanks

I'll update all the other joomla sites, and I'll post here if everything went fine.

Hi,
I've read all posts in this forum regarding the issue and followed the suggestions (system - language filter is loaded first and jdiction second, no other modules in between). I am still having issues switching the language. On first click on the language switching link the page is not translated, but the link in addressbar is changed. If I click again on that same language option, I get a 404 error, because another language tag is added to the url (for example mywebsite.lv/ru/ru). If I just refresh the page after the language change (with the link being mywebsite.lv/ru), it is loaded in the correct language. Any other suggestions?

Here is my jDiction check screen (attached).

The ordering was not really correct.

Thanks, Harald!
I see that you've changed the plugin order, but still it doesn't seem to change the language on first click (have to click on the language flag twice for the language to change). I tried it with cleared browser cash from FF, Chrome and IE11. Do you maybe have any other suggestions?

I'm at Joomla Day Austria and maybe I solved your Problem but I'm not sure if it really fix it, is your template special? Is it a template with a frame that maybe load the menu before the system plugin os loaded? I didn't found a plugin but maybe I missed something.
