Translation doesn't display

(1/1)

yves:
Hi,
I just added the 0.8 version on a new joomla installation (using Joomlart template).
language modules and content have been uploaded/created.
Pluggins and modules have been activated.
as the home page of my site is made of modules, I started to translate one module:
- the original English version of that module was first indicating "languages All", so I put it to ENglish (my default language). if not all the other languages were only using that English version for all the language versions. But then, the translated version of that module (in French, Spanish, German) doesn't display when we click on the corresponding Flag/Language selector.
- the module I translated includes formatting/html codes which are dropped when I save the translated text. Then the formatting will probably be dropped when they will be able to display.
- I also tried to translate an article, but if I click on the "i" to bring back the original text, it only brings back what is before the "read more" tag and ignores all the rest. The editing windows doesn't provide as well any editing function.

thanks in advance.
I can also send you some admin access login if you want.
(the website is on artdevivre-edu.org).

Best,
yves

Harald Leithner:
Hi,

modules are bit complicated to translate but should work.
The translation is working for articles?
You could pm me admin rights thats much faster then anything else.

regards,

Harald

Harald Leithner:
there is a typo in modules.xml in libaries/jdiction/tables
<form import="modules.xml">
should be
<form import="module.xml">

Now you could translate html content in modules.

We had a similar problem. Whenever we saved the translation in some modules the text disappeared and there was only an empty module left (title of the module stayed translated - for whatever reason ^^).
By chance we found "our" solution...
We DIDN'T add any source via button in the content of these problematic modules (nor did we copy and paste any content into this modules), but did write the content in by hand.
Strangely, it worked then ;)

Maybe it helps in some cases.
Best regards,

AW
