General Questions / Hyperlinks go to default language
« on: August 03, 2016, 01:48:04 pm »
Dear Harald,
I have the same problem as hkk (http://forum.jdiction.org/index.php/topic,860.msg3434.html#msg3434) for www.exo-l.com. jDiction works perfectly for all menu items, but for hyperlinks in custom html modules, the header-logo etc. it always goes back to the default language (dutch in my case). This happens for links without languagecode (like the logo) and the proposed fix at the bottom of the other thread of changing the languagefilter.php file unfortunately doesn't work for me.

Here is the checkpage:

Version
Library Version: 1.4.2
Joomla Version 3.5.1 is unkown.
Plugin
Joomla Languagefilter Plugin is enabled
JDiction Plugin is enabled.
Database
jDiction Database Driver is selected
Language
Translations are not equal to frontend translations.
One language has not accesslevel public.
Module
Module is enabled
Common mistakes
At least one module has the language set not to ALL.
The default editor is not tinymce, jDiction does only support tinymce at the moment.

As a workaround I have changed every hyperlink in every translation, but unfortunately I cannot do this for every link on the page, like the logo for example.
I know it used to work before, but I don't remember when this stopped working or what could have caused it? Could it be the joomla version or do you have a different idea? I really looked through the forum for possible solutions but couldn't find anything.

Kind regards,
Marijn Jeurissen

Extensions and jDiction / jDiction and Direct Alias
« on: April 29, 2016, 11:36:09 am »
Dear Harald,

I have a question regarding the URL. I would like to be able to leave the parents of menu items out of the URL.

site.com/child-alias
instead of,
site.com/parent-alias/child-alias

I found a nice extension to do this, called Direct Alias (https://alterbrains.com/joomla-extensions/seo/direct-alias). Unfortunately it doesn't work in combination with jDiction (I tested this by disabling jDiction). I already talked to their support but they couldn't help me and just advised me to use Falang instead, which is not going to happen. I works by adding a button to menu items to disable inheritance for the URL; it's quite nice.
Do you think it would be complicated to get jDiction to work with Direct Alias? Or do you have an alternative extension/solution? I couldn't find anything on this forum.

Kind regards,
Marijn Jeurissen

Dear Harald,
I have another question. As far as I understand you still need to have a menu for each language with at least one default page in them for the languageswitcher to work. This seems to work fine, all menuitems and also the URL's change according to the jDiction translation. But when I change the language on a page other than the homepage, it always redirects to the homepage of that language. Is it possible to stay on the same page with the new language instead? If so, what do I need to change?

Kind regards,
Marijn

Extensions and jDiction / jDiction for SP Page Builder
« on: February 16, 2016, 12:36:31 pm »
Hello,

I am using SP Page Builder to build the pages of my website. This allows to easily and quickly build the pages and makes it also easier for non technical people to edit the website. Inside the plugin you add rows, which you can divide into columns, in which you put addons (like text, button, empty space, carousel, video,  module, etc.). I attached some screenshots of the plugin.

Unfortunately if I want to insert a textblock, I still have to use modules for this, so it can be translated using jDiction. And then I have to insert those modules into the pagebuilder. So I'm going back and forth between the modules and the pagebuilder and this takes a lot of time and is also little confusing. It would be a lot easier if I could translate text inside the pagebuilder.

The problem is that the kind and also the amount of addons change on each page. Another problem is they don't have a own page for the view tag, you add them using a pop-up. I attached the jdiction.xml file I created. It allows me to translate the standard values, but not the addons and I have no clue how to do that. I was wondering if it is possible at all to translate those with jDiction.

Any help is appreciated.

Cheers,
Marijn
