Title: Strategy for different versions of English based on country
Post by: steveorg on March 08, 2015, 09:52:06 pm
My English site is relevant to English speakers globally. Even though it is all in English, some of the content has to change based on a user's location. About half of the pages need localization, the other half do not. The changes will involve short strings of text such as jargon, price and links.

I want to structure URLs to look like this to be consistent with the hreflang tag:
- mysite.com/en-us/
- mysite.com/en-gb/
- mysite.com/en-in/
- mysite.com/en-ca/
- mysite.com/en-au/

To what extent can this extension help with these goals?
1. Create the above URL structure without duplicating all the language files.
2. Use existing menu structure so recreating it for all languages is not necessary.
3. Use language override files to insert snippets of text via plugin.

Any other feedback would be appreciated.

jDiction can handle point 2.

For Joomla you need a copy for each language.
