Title: 404 - Category not found
Post by: Joy on May 26, 2016, 12:34:47 pm
Hi, when i have a menu item pointing to a category and the category's articles are not assigned to a menu and i access them from the front side of the website and i click the flag to change language i get "404 - category not found". The url changes too, it gets "cut", meaning when for example i'm in the english part of the site the url is www.thewebsite.com/en/news/72-news.html and i hit the other flag for translation the url becomes www.thewebsite.com/el/newsews.html.

I've had this error happen in a few websites but you can see one of them here http://www.europrise.gr/en/news.html
If you do have an explanation/solution for this please let me know so i can fix the other websites too (the others do not have the latest joomla 3.5 version, one is 3.4.1 so version cannot be a problem)

Test    Result

Version

    Library Version: 1.4.2
    Joomla Version 3.5.1 is unkown.

Plugin

    Joomla Languagefilter Plugin is enabled
    JDiction Plugin is enabled.

Database

    jDiction Database Driver is selected

Language

    Seam to be good

Module

    Module is enabled

Common mistakes

At least one menu item has the language set not to ALL.
At least one content item has the language set not to ALL.
At least one module has the language set not to ALL.
The default editor is not tinymce, jDiction does only support tinymce at the moment.

Thank you

Hi,

you are using .html (Adds Suffix to URL) extensions in system settings, this is a bug in jdiction you have to disable it till this is fixed.

regards,

Harald

This was not fixed yet, correct? I added the new version to the website and even without the sef links it's not working.

It's not custom fields, it's the regular category layout. If i put on a menu item joomla articles category blog or list the page returns a 404 page
