Sometimes solutions are so simle.......
We should have found this out ourselves. How embarrassing!  :D

Thanks anyway for this very quick response.

All the luck and success for your work and best wishes to you!

Hello community!

After restoring our website everything is running correctly but there are no more translations displayed. We checked every article, module etc and the translations are still there. The plugins and the language module are enabled. So everything should be ok - but if we choose the language flag nothing happens.... The main language is German and the translations are in English. The complete website is running otherwise error-free. Only the translations are not shown. If we move the mouse over the english flag the link to the index.php/en is shown (balloon tip in the status bar at the bottom of the website) but nothing happens if we click on it.

Has anybody an idea what is wrong or which configuration we can change to make it work again?
We are grateful for any help!

Best wishes to all of you,
AW

Install & Configure jDiction / Re: No Jdiction_mysqli database driver shown
« on: February 12, 2014, 11:52:40 am »
Ahhh - stupid me! (In Köln/ Germany we would say: "Ich Koppelschoap!"  ;) )

In the backend of the original website I found the "solution".
An old Joomla version (1.5) is installed there and for the translations there is JoomFish included - not JDiction. In the configuration I can also only see the database type Mysql. After I had contacted the hoster say said Mysqli is not offered in this webpack. So that is why JDiction isn't running correctly.
Sorry for this confusion! On all the websites we are working on we have included this extension of yours. And it always works well! So I did not expect to find such an "old" website installation and so I surched for the fault at the wrong place  ::)
We are going to move to another hoster now and after this I'm sure everything is going to work good like it always does.

However thanks for your support and all the best to you!

Strange....  ???
We installed JDiction already a few times on different servers and never had any problems.
This new website has been created in a subfolder. The original site is in the root "folder" and JDiction works perfect with it.
It only goes on strike with this new site in a subfolder  ;)
Do you think it has something to do with this subfolder thing?

Can you help me out?

Install & Configure jDiction / No Jdiction_mysqli database driver shown
« on: February 11, 2014, 11:20:12 am »
Hello there!

I hope everyone is fine and had a positive start into the year 2014.

My problem with a new installation of JDiction is the following:
After I installed the package I enabled the plugin like it is shown in the documention. But if I want to change the database driver in the configuration there is no JDiction_mysqli driver shown in the selection!? Only "Mysql" is shown there as database type.

Is there something I forgot or can I make any changes to solve this?
For your help and support many thanks in advance,

AW

Install & Configure jDiction / Re: Translation doesn't display
« on: November 09, 2012, 09:30:28 am »
- the module I translated includes formatting/html codes which are dropped when I save the translated text.

We had a similar problem. Whenever we saved the translation in some modules the text disappeared and there was only an empty module left (title of the module stayed translated - for whatever reason ^^).
By chance we found "our" solution...
We DIDN'T add any source via button in the content of these problematic modules (nor did we copy and paste any content into this modules), but did write the content in by hand.
Strangely, it worked then ;)

Maybe it helps in some cases.
Best regards,

AW

Install & Configure jDiction / Translation of image signatures
« on: November 07, 2012, 11:15:31 am »
Hi there

Said beforehand, we are very happy that we found this extension and we are grateful for the help that we have already received. *thumbsup*

All translations work well so far, but we have not yet found a way to translate image captions/ signatures.
To explain our problem: we are working with the extension JoomGallery and also the module ArtFeature Carousel.
In the module the discriptions of the images (which are shown underneath the images in the slideshow) can be inserted directly in the "base options" of the module. Until now, we can find no way to translate these descriptions?!

Same problem with the JoomGallery component. The image discription is inserted within the components image-manager.

Is there an opportunity to translate such image discriptions with jdiction? Or will there be one in the future?

Best regards,
AW & team

Install & Configure jDiction / Re: Main Menu doesn't become translated
« on: October 30, 2012, 04:20:18 pm »
Ok.... we did the next step and have been able to solve at least a part of the problem.

We assigned the german menu items to the german language (besides "Home" because that has to stay on "All languages"), copied them and assigned these new items to the english language - and translated them.
It seems to work for now. But if you change languages the site always jumps back to the homesite and doesn't stay at the menu item you have chosen before.
For example you visited the item "Manufacture" and change the language - you will always get back to "Home"

Maybe we can also solve this little problem ;)

Install & Configure jDiction / Main Menu doesn't become translated
« on: October 30, 2012, 02:33:11 pm »
Hi there

We're using Joomla 2.5 and installed jDiction today. Translations of all contents are correctly done, but only the main menu stays in the standard language (german) no matter what we are trying...
If we fill in the form in the translation area the correct translations are shown - but not in the frontend of our website.

Does anybody have an idea of what goes wrong and maybe which settings or so we have to adjust???
