No Jdiction_mysqli database driver shown
« on: February 11, 2014, 11:20:12 am »

Hello there!

I hope everyone is fine and had a positive start into the year 2014.

My problem with a new installation of JDiction is the following:
After I installed the package I enabled the plugin like it is shown in the documention. But if I want to change the database driver in the configuration there is no JDiction_mysqli driver shown in the selection!? Only "Mysql" is shown there as database type.

Is there something I forgot or can I make any changes to solve this?
For your help and support many thanks in advance,

AW

I can't really believe that could you make a screen shot of the drop down? I tested 2.5.18 and nothing changed.

Oh I see, jdiction "needs" mysqli, so your host have to support this.

Strange....  ???
We installed JDiction already a few times on different servers and never had any problems.
This new website has been created in a subfolder. The original site is in the root "folder" and JDiction works perfect with it.
It only goes on strike with this new site in a subfolder  ;)
Do you think it has something to do with this subfolder thing?

Subfolder should not be the problem.

On your screenshot you see only one database driver (mysql) but you should see two (mysql and mysqli) with a standard Joomla installation and jdiction extends the "mysqli" driver.

please check the other websites with jdiction that you have on this server if you see 3 database drivers.

Ahhh - stupid me! (In Köln/ Germany we would say: "Ich Koppelschoap!"  ;) )

In the backend of the original website I found the "solution".
An old Joomla version (1.5) is installed there and for the translations there is JoomFish included - not JDiction. In the configuration I can also only see the database type Mysql. After I had contacted the hoster say said Mysqli is not offered in this webpack. So that is why JDiction isn't running correctly.
Sorry for this confusion! On all the websites we are working on we have included this extension of yours. And it always works well! So I did not expect to find such an "old" website installation and so I surched for the fault at the wrong place  ::)
We are going to move to another hoster now and after this I'm sure everything is going to work good like it always does.

However thanks for your support and all the best to you!
