I have deleted a duplicate Portuguese language pack that was installed.
Created 'specific' category and changed the Main Menu item "Home" to display the Menu Item Type as a Category blog and chosen the 'specific' category. After doing this a created the same article in different languages. And it worked.
Harald you told me that the editor should be the default from joomla but I changed it and the article did assume the text in the translation tabs, so I am using the same method as described above.
