Changes not saving
« on: December 18, 2014, 01:33:05 pm »

Hi
Just tried to update an existing translation, which went fine.
Then when I made some further changes few minutes later the new changes were not saved at all. Have uploaded the latest version 1.3.2 but it makes no difference. Have tried saving while in the article and also using the translation icon in Article manager - nothing is saving.

please help.

I'm having this problem sometimes. (I'm using JCE editor)

When I making changes I always open "Sorce code" view. And if I click on "Save" before changing back to normal view everything stay the same. But if I make changes in "source code" view, than switch back to normal view and than click "Save" everything is fine.

This problem solved itself after I posted and today it's back.
I see that tiny is the only supported editor, but I too am using JCE. I can't understand how it works most days but then some days it won't save?!
Do you have any plans to make it work with JCE? Tiny is a bit rubbish.

So I just changed my default editor to Tiny, to try to get my changes to save.
I had been trying to make one change - visibility of a div from "none" to "all".
In JCE on saving, nothing saved and the article reverted to "none" after saving, although the message says "changes saved successfully".

On changing to Tiny, I open the translation page and find "all", surprisingly. I checked the page in a refreshed browser (incognito) and the div is still hidden.
I tried saving with Tiny, which saves with no error message, but the page still displays "none" in a browser.

Thoroughly confused! Please help - need to update some info urgently.
At the moment I am thinking the only way to change this is via PHPmyadmin!

Thanks Harald,

I found a way which works, finally! I am happy to send you a login if you want to see how things are functioning on the site.

Today I edited an article translation that I had not tried yesterday, and it saved without problem.
Hopeful, I opened the article I tried to translate yesterday, and was not able to save the changes on it.
The only difference was that I needed to change the html code, rather than the wsywig text. I have JCE back on again.

I then decided to try using the JCE <> code button icon, instead of of toggling the editor. And this worked!
So the solution is - use the editor icon to edit the code, do not toggle. Then the changes will save.

good to know, I will support the other editors at a later time... the problem is to think about a system to support multiple editors...

But maybe I have some time for this in the near future...
